Portable Umbrella Chair
This is a great chair. I've used it for my kid's soccer games and it's
pulled it weight on both rainy and sunny days. It's super lightweight
and easy to setup. You really want to keep the bag, because it would be
a little awkward to carry without it. The built-in umbrella adjust
easily, so you can position it to block the sun from different angles.
The fabric is cool and comfortable, and I found it gave great support.
It has a cupholder which beats setting a drink on the ground with a
bunch of kids running around. Overall a great, easy to use portable
chair.
Portable Umbrella Chair
The Sport-Brella Beach Chair is a very attractive, and fairly
sturdy-seeming and wellmade product. It has some fantastic features
(carry bag, lightly padded armrests, oddly but intelligently shaped
umbrella shade) and it is a chair that proclaims that one is serious
about lounging at the beach, as long as it does not require full body
contact with the sand.

The chair feels rather hefty while in the
carry sack. This is not a concern to me, but could be a concern to my
spouse. He typically winds up trudging toward a clear spot on the beach
completely laden with towels, bags of beach toys, umbrellas, and a
cooler growling like a yeti stranded in the subtropics.

Both of
us set it up and tried it. He, being of youthful joints, sat down and
popped right back up. I, on the other hand, have a vicious combination
of rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and the chair is so low on the ground
that sitting wound up feeling like a trust fall and standing required
moving from chair, to hands and knees, and then struggling to return to a
full-standing position. On the beach (we were testing it at home
first), sitting and standing to and from such a low to the sand point
would be more of a challenge for me and decided to sit for a bit longer
in the chair to determine if it was so very comfortable and luxurious
that the orderal of standing and sitting in it would be a reasonable
opportunity cost. It wasn't. There are crossed bars on the lower back
of the chair that within a few minutes started bothering me.
Portable Umbrella Chair
My
hunt for a more upright yet compact (it did fold up quite nicely for
transport in our compact car) yet just as protective (the sun shade is a
rather nice feature) lounging chair for our days at the beach
continues. I will report back if and when I find one that works well
for those of us who are a bit creakier in the knees and back.
